Take your main meoldy line and then repeat it an octave higher or lower on the same instrument set.
Then, take the same line and repeat this melody on another instrument (I.E. If played first on the Violin, echo the same melody line on the cello.)
Then keep any differing counterpoint and bass melodies on the Viola and Double Bass

Play piece - "Timmys Magic Bike"
Some brief notes on the songs: ‘Timmy’s Magic Bike’ is a recent composition with a nod towards Disney rated G films. I had been writing a lot of intense, darker stuff, and I wanted to shift gears a bit. The mix is unique in that I recorded all the tracks with effects in order to use Giga’s convolution reverb. It’s really the only way, at present, to make use of it on so many tracks. Also, for the first time I doubled the normally solo woodwinds with secondary instruments from more than one library. I don’t have the VSL section winds library, but orchestras always have more than on wind playing. So flutes, oboes, clarinets, and bassoons are all doubled, using one from VSL, the other from Dan Dean. It took some tweaking since attack times differ, particularly in the clarinet. It definitely gave it a different sound and feel.
The other 3 are from a project that needed music that blended traditional orchestra with Middle Eastern instruments. It obviously created its own challenges, but the results, I feel, were gratifying.
