![]() ![]() There are a large number of DVD-A capable players out there now, but: • Most people don't seem to care about audio quality • Combined sales of SACD and DVD-A are very small • The content protection turns off users. They can't rip the music to their digital music players. That's a big turn-off these days. What's been more successful is multichannel audio in standard Dolby Digital. That's not very appetizing for many audiophiles because of the high level of compression. Newer DD formats will be less compressed, so that may be the longer term approach. But content protection is still an issue. |

![]() ![]() Vastness of Space was intended as a sci-fi space-war piece. I tried to give it a militaristic feel but also experimented mixing synth instruments alongside orchestral to give a kind of 'retro' space-shooter-video-game feel. Vastness of Space is also primarily VSL, including the most-awesome Epic Horns (oh how I love them!). The opening section does feature SAM Horns, though. |
