* I have 3 G5's in my studio- 2 quads and 1 Dual 2.5 all running Digital Performer version 5.01 and Vienna Instruments. The main quad has Altiverb 5 and I have used 6 instances of it on this mix. The other G5's all route their audio into the main G5 for rendering and mixing. I am using the Motu 424 and 2- 2408's mk3. So the setup is rather simple and logical.

The main G5 holds all the Strings. The 2nd Quad holds all the Brass and Percussion and the 3rd G5 the Woodwinds.

Other plug ins that I have used in this mix are Isotope Ozone, Motu's Trim, Masterworks Limiter and lots of paramteric e.q.'s. My keyboard is a Kawai MP9000 and has great touch and wooden keys. I also have a 7' Bechstein Grand Piano from 1929 in my studio.

I am still learning how to use the Vienna Instruments. Most important is to have a dedicated Midi Controller for the VI's so I am thinking of getting the JLC Fadermaster Pro just for this purpose. I have the N.I. Kore but that is not working out too well for the VI's.

I do not use a hardware mixer just the mixer in Digital Performer and spend a fair bit of time working the automation to balance the levels.

My CD's are available at www.oasisproductions.com(search artist: mitchell) and my email is brucem@istar.ca.

This symphony is my 1st and is in 3 parts. the 3rd part being the longest. I hope to find an orchestra here in Canada to play this work. That may prove difficult but we shall see. This work was partially inspired by hearing the live stage presentation of the Lord of The Rings soundtrack. I also wanted to blend my Celtic and classical influences together in this work. There is an element of mysticism to the music as with all good music I suppose.
